Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! is a charming little anime and a real treat for fans of the genre who just want a cozy romance to watch. It's also mildly educational, acting like a tour guide for the Hokkaido prefecture and daily life there.

This delightful anime introduces fans to the everyman lead Tsubasa Shiki as he moves from Tokyo to a Hokkaido town, where a friendly gyaru meets him and decides to show him around. The two o them strike up an instant friendship, all while Tsubasa gets used to Hokkaido life and meets a few more beautiful girls around his age. And for the first time, the normally carefree Minami Fuyuki the gyaru must contend with some romantic rivalries, which will make this year unlike any other for her.

My Deer Friend Nokotan doesn't have anything particular to say about life, but it doesn't have to, because this bizarre comedy anime puts fun first. In fact, viewers are encouraged not to think too deeply and just enjoy the outrageous humor at face value, especially since the anime playfully declines to answer the most basic questions about how this premise is possible.

Nokotan is a deer girl with detachable antlers, and she's also the centerpiece of the local high school's new deer club, along with a few other girls who aren't entirely sure how they got mixed up in this deer business to begin with. One episode after another treats fans to the most off-the-wall antics with goofy visuals and unpredictable punchlines, excellent for anime fans who just want to unwind and laugh at some zany nonsense.

Based on the popular manga of the same name, Dandadan juggles high school life, wacky romance, science fiction, and the supernatural into one colorful package. Aliens and ghosts are absolutely real, as the sinister Serpoian aliens abduct Momo in their cartoony UFO while the wicked spirit Turbo Granny possesses Okarun and gives him powers. Momo and Okarun use their respective powers to take on zany threats and protect the peace, all while grappling with their newfound affection for one another – including a recent love triangle with Jiji involved.

1 Dragon Ball DAIMA Brought the Franchise Back in Style

Despite early apprehension from fans, Dragon Ball DAIMA quickly established itself as the best new anime of 2024. Sporting by far the best animation the series has ever seen, DAIMA manages to capture early Dragon Ball's magical atmosphere and sense of adventure with DBZ's action-packed drama and over the top battles. The story's lower stakes, even for Dragon Ball, but DAIMA's commitment to lore and world building gives the anime a sense of scale thart hasn't been felt since Dragon Ball Super introduced the multiverse.

Rumored to run for only 20 episodes, Dragon Ball DAIMA does indeed seem to be setting up its endgame as of Episode 12 – the last episode to air in 2024. All the same, it's been an incredible ride so far that's debatably only gotten better now that Goku & Vegeta are together again, and the main villains have expanded their roster. There's no telling how Dragon Ball DAIMA will end at this point, but if the past three months are anything to go off of, fans have nothing to worry about.
