Twin Trap Tip #1 - Myth: Placement of Traps
There is much online information about the importance of where to place rat traps. They claim that you have to place them along the walls. This is false. Once you identify their entry and exit points and have sealed them up properly, it does not matter where you place your rat traps. Rats have a great sense of smell and will always go where there is a food source to survive. We have tested this over and over; once we have sealed their entry points, we've placed our Twin Trap platform in the middle of the room, fully baited with our Bait Tugger, and we have trapped rats quickly.
Twin Trap Tip #2 - Myth: Wear Gloves When Handling Traps
This is the biggest myth when it comes to rodent trapping. Rats and mice do not care about human scent. We have trapped over 2500 rats and mice without wearing gloves on brand new traps. If you wish, you can wipe bacon grease on the rat trap directly in front of the bait plate and wipe bacon on the Twin Trap platform. This provides a great aroma, luring the rodents right in.

MYTH: Repel rats from your home using noise repellent devices. We have been on hundreds and hundreds of jobs where clients have purchased these high-pitched oscillators that simply never worked. Sealing the holes in your property and trapping rats is the ultimate way for eradication.
TWIN TRAP TIP #13 MYTH: Place poison bait boxes on the exterior of your property before they get inside. This does not work. If there is access inside your property, rats will enter for warmth and nesting, completely bypassing bait boxes and traps placed outside. Put your energy towards investigating entry points and sealing them up.

TWIN TRAP TIP #14 Many people will go to a big box store and purchase glue boards. This is the worst trapping method, especially if you're dealing with larger rats. You may catch a few here and there, but you'll find it's not humane. Rats will drag them away, and it attracts spiders and roaches more than catching rats.
TWIN TRAP TIP #15 Never place snap traps in open areas where kids and pets can encounter them. You can always place a box with holes on each side, allowing rats to walk in. Placing a heavy item on top of the box helps secure it. You can insert a monitoring camera by cutting a small incision in the box and inserting the camera lens towards the rat trap, providing you with intel and notifications when you trap a rodent.

MYTH: Placing Irish ☘️ spring soap helps repel rodents? This is completely false. Another myth is using ammonia or peppermint oil; again, these are not effective. The most effective way to prevent rodents in your property is locating and sealing every entry point. There is simply no other way.
